"There is a strange thing that happens when we see others through the lens of painting. Despite a distance and disconnect of time and space and association, we are able to feel, even if just a little, what it means to be someone else, even though we’re bound to be wrong, to misunderstand them.We think we’re thinking about someone else, but of course we’re just thinking about ourselves, but in a new way. And that’s not nothing." -Chris Pavlik"
